Deutsche Telekom IoT GmbH and citkar cooperate on the digitalisation of cargo bikes

At the 24-hour cargo bike race on June 26 and 27, 2021 in Berlin citkar is using the digital solution Drive & Track from Deutsche Telekom IoT GmbH for the first time. The Drive & Track solution, powered by Fleet Complete, provides precise information about the vehicle condition in real time and transmits them to the cloud-based software via the Telekom network. After the 24-hour stress test, the Drive & Track solution can be installed in the Loadster at the customer’s request. In daily operation, this makes it possible to see when the next vehicle maintenance is due. In addition, tours can be planned and evaluated more easily and processes can thus be optimised.

Deutsche Telekom IoT GmbH, Fleet Complete and citkar are working together on the digitalisation of the maintenance and repair of e-cargo bikes through the use of Drive & Track, the management solution for vehicle fleets.

Jonas Kremer, founder and CEO of citkar: “The Telekom solution with the strong partner Fleet Complete is the ideal basis for digitising our vehicles. This increases both the reliability and the operating time of the vehicles, which is a novelty in the field of cargo bikes.”

With the help of the tracking solution, citkar customers automatically receive regular reports on the vehicle status with the kilometers driven, the average speed, the distance traveled and the CO2 emissions of the vehicles during the journey. In the event of a failure, citkar’s assistance service will be informed of the location so that the problem can be rectified immediately. Vehicle theft is also prevented, as the stolen vehicle can be tracked.

Loadsters equipped with Drive & Track powered by Fleet Complete make it easier for commercial fleet operators to get started with Drive & Track as a complete fleet management system. This reduces the investment and equipment costs for fleet operators. The data is stored completely anonymously and without personal reference by citkar in compliance with the GDPR.

Stephan Grimm, VP Sales Europe Fleet Complete: “Last mile delivery is in the midst of the change in mobility and the need for professional fleet management solutions, comparable to those for traditional CEP vehicles, will increase enormously in the coming years. Fleet Complete already offers such a solution today, in that e-cargo bikes can be displayed in the standard portal alongside conventional vehicles.”

At the 24-hour cargo bike race on June 26 and 27, 2021 in Berlin, those interested can test and inspect the Loadster including the IoT solution at the start/finish. citkar and Fleet Complete advise with a team on site.
